Church of St. Mary Magdalene, Holany

Macha Area
Holany, 470 02
The late Baroque-style Church of St. Mary Magdalene and the Baroque-style presbytery are landmarks of Holany.
The original church occupied the location as early as the 14th century; the present building dates from 1789. The church has a single nave and its facade features a prism-shaped tower. The interior ceiling fresco depicting the legend of St. Mary Magdalene by J. Kramolín is certainly worth mentioning. The main altar was brought from the Prague Servite church of St. Michael. The historical wonders also include the organ made at the end of the 18th century as the church was being built. The church is surrounded by the original cemetery, where interesting tombstones have been preserved until the present day.
